Winter has arrived. Two days ago it began to freezing rain. The roads were already muddy and rutted, and then they froze that way. And the ruts were covered with ice. Then it began to snow. So now the roads are ruts with ice which are covered with snow so you can’t see the ruts. Awful. And now it’s only -12C.

I didn’t write yesterday, just one day after saying I intended to write every day. But I also suffer from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and yesterday and even today I’ve had inflamation. It’s as if someone was holding a torch under my wrist, and it feels worse when I use the computer.

Have you ever noticed that whenever you try to accomplish something, when you carefully make detailed plans and write to-do lists, there are always so many other unplanned to-dos that you can never accomplish even one thing from the list?

Today was that kind of day.

I intended to clean out my email, and install the software on my new Mac. I accomplished a little of this, but only a little. I’ve just about given up the idea of ever cleaning out my email. Every time I try, there are problems, questions, other tasks, and so on, so I can’t work on it.

I also know I didn’t write here yesterday. I have to try to avoid that sort of thing so I can really be able to practice Alurhsa every day.

Bánensá / Busy

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

Today I was very busy. Too much email, problems and questions at work, and after work a doctor’s appointment, but before that I needed to visit my Turkish friends to help with a computer problem.

One problem is that I want too much to be nice and helpful. I didn’t really have enough time after work and before my appointment, but when they called, I felt I had to go help. And so I got to the doctor’s late, and the appointment had to be shorter than I needed.

Today I thought about this blog, and I decided to write it in Alurhsa, but also to write a translation in English. This advice is from Tsiasuk-Pron, and I think it’s good. I do think writing here in Alurhsa will be good practice, and I will try to write every day, although certainly I won’t be able to when I’m not at home with the Internet.

Today here the weather was very cold and very windy. And very busy. Dentist appointment, installing a new computer, and many many questions!

Dwiyevná Vílen tye úmázhá vílárená

Monday, January 1st, 2007

Úmázhë lhôñ lháls-dwiyevná vílen vlór. Ñe tsilálÿ ve góyánálÿ vílâ sùlme zh’álurhsáxná, áv ve vílánálÿ tsú zh’áñgëlsáxná. Enthá delzálná zále sícályen vílâ ñólyën vëzhô lháls-shevená vlór sùlme zhë hályexná lháls-táshneyá. Tsilme vìgánô clá ñórá te móvránályá velâ dhón!

This is my first post here. I’m not sure if I’ll continue to write only in Alurhsa, or whether I’ll also write in English. Maybe it would be good practice to write what happens in my life here only in the language of my spirit. Certainly there will be indeed few who will be able to read it!
